Why does CERN have 666 as its logo?

This is the statue of Shiva outside of Cern. The flames are known as the Flames Of Destruction, or Agni.

Cern supports Shiva, a Hindu Deity. Shiva is also known as the destroyer. Lord Shiva is the destroyer of the world, following Brahma the creator and Vishnu the preserver, after which Brahma again creates the world and so on.
