Hi! Thanks for the question and for accepting my answer.

I found the following data from the US Census. The latest data
published by the government was for 1999.

Total Firms

10,000 or more employees 936
5,000-9,999 employees 871
1,000-4,999 employees 6,698
Less than 1000 employees 5,599,238


The data is in Microsoft Excel format. I will post a link here so that
you could verify my numbers.
