A referendum in Greece on the terms of financial assistance put forward by the European creditors, has no legal force. This was stated in an interview with BBC, the managing Director of the International monetary Fund (IMF) Christine Lagarde.
As Lagarde said, the speech on the referendum, scheduled for July 5, will go about the proposals and measures, "which already will not have the power" at that time, as the deadline for repayment of the loan Athens — June 30.
IMF chief also ruled out the possibility of delay for Greece to repay the loan. "I won't be able to pay more for Greece. Greece will no longer have access to financing, while it does not settle all questions with the Fund", — quotes the words Lagarde TASS. "This is money belonging to the international community, including people with lower standards of living than in Greece", — she emphasized.
