This morning local authorities have begun the task of moving the wreckage of MH17 to a secure location. Yesterday the Dutch Safety Board granted permission for the wreck to be moved. The board explained that the decision was made to ensure the removal of remains from the wreckage as quickly as possible.

Both black boxes on MH17 were recovered and are now being decoded by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). The ICAO reported both black boxes were not tampered with and are in good condition.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has reassured the international community that Russia will cooperate fully with the investigation and supports the transparent and unbiased international probe into the downing of the Malaysian airliner over Ukraine.

Yesterday Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin met with the head of the EU Delegation to Russia, Vygaudas Usackas. After that meeting Karasin spoke with reporters and brought attention to counter-productive measures of Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko to make out Ukraine’s southeast representatives as Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko as terrorists on the world stage.

“Actually, it would cross out all the efforts urging the both parts of the conflict to launch a constructive dialogue aiming at the settlement of the Ukrainian crisis,” Itar-Tass quoted the Russian Foreign Ministry as saying.

The leader of the militia Aleksandr Boroday, told the BBC in an interview for Newsnight that international observers from the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) told them to leave the bodies to be collected by experts. “So we wait a day. We wait a second day. A third day. Come on! Not a single expert. Well, to leave the bodies there any longer, in 30 degree heat, it’s absurd. It’s simply inhuman. It’s a scene from a horror movie,” he said.

The Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC), who oversee civil aviation in Russia and the Ukraine announced that its representative is on the team of international experts investigating MH17 crash. The team was created in compliance with the UN Security Council resolution, passed on Monday. They are working to decipher the data from the plane’s flight recorders. On Thursday investigators announced that they had successfully downloaded the data from the black boxes. Today they begin to decode that data today.

Since the crash pro-Russian rebels who control the region have cooperated with investigators. They recovered the black boxes, and are providing security around the crash site.
